We had an uneventful flight over, with only a few moments of concern when 2 bags went missing at our destination. They turned up within 30 minutes, however, so all was good. During our drive to Ostroda Camp, we stopped at a McDonald’s for dinner! Aaron had his first Big Mac in Poland. We arrived safely at the camp, made introductions, and fell into bed shortly thereafter. Although the sun rises early (4:30), we all stayed in bed until at least 6, with our late risers getting up in time for devotions at 8:30.
Most of the day was spent trying to work out details of the bed building project, setting up work stations, and converting some measurements into metrics for use with the wood that was bought. Some time was spent preparing the camp for the Holocaust survivors, who arrive tomorrow evening. Windows were washed, the chapel cleaned, chairs arranged, and the craft room set up.
Prayer requests: We’ve still run into a snag with the bed project, and are trying to solve the problem. It may be solved by the time you read this, but just generally pray that building the beds will go smoothly, with no more problems! Our goal was to build one bed today, after setting up all work stations and working through all problems, and power tools are still at work at the hour (7:45) trying to make that goal.
We’ll keep you posted, and thanks for your prayers.
