Hope Academy
We hope you’ve heard of our friends at Hope Academy here in Savannah. Brian & Heather Flood, members of Compassion Christian, started Hope Academy after feeling a call to reach those with limited access to education in our urban community. God began to bring women from the refugee community in Savannah to Hope Academy with a need to learn English. What started with 3-4 women meeting weekly over tea has turned into over 60 women and children in multiple levels of English classes, tutoring, children’s programming and outreach. God continues to use the Floods and their dedicated volunteers to open doors of grace to this incredible community of families. During a difficult time of transition and isolation, they are encountering the compassionate love of Jesus!
This internship opportunity is designed for college-age students and adults who want to see what it’s like to serve among the diaspora here in Savannah. You will have the opportunity to work with the ministry team using education to create an engaging outreach for children and families resettled from countries including Afghanistan, Myanmar, Iran and Sudan. If you would like to be equipped to serve cross-culturally, or are looking for a way to experience the heart of missions among unreached people groups, you can do it right here in our city!
This opportunity is available any time of year for those 18 and older.
