Journey to the Fatherless
The main focus of Love One Inc. is to help support families fostering and adopting as well as support kinship families, and raise awareness to the needs of the fatherless. There is a way everyone can help! Whether you jump in to serve daily or just help support families so they can stay in the game. There is something everyone can do to be a part of raising awareness, volunteering, or supporting families who want to foster or adopt.
We were led to help others through our own experience of adopting. Our son came home with major neglect and it impacted our hearts to compel us to create a ministry to help other children find forever families. We felt the need to raise awareness to the orphan crisis. We wanted to make sure people in our church community knew how to get started and that we were willing to walk the process out with them. That they woudl not be alone!
Frank and Dawn married in 2005. They have two children (Isabella and Wynn) who were adopted from China. This led their interest and heart’s desire to help others adopt. Love One was created as a ministry at Compassion in 2013 to support families who wanted to adopt or foster. It has since turned into a local non-profit in 2015. Frank grew up in New Jersey where he lived until he joined the Army at the age of 18. He was enlisted for 9 years and has continued working for the Department of the Army as a DOD employee since getting out of the Army. Dawn grew up in Georgia and has lived in Georgia all of her life. She moved to the Savannah area for college and resided in this area after college. Dawn has one sister and Frank has one brother. Dawn adn Frank met through a mutual friend and fell in love. They continue to write their forever chapters.
Prayer Points for Dawn & Frank Fegel
- Personal: Please bless our marriage, children, finances, ministry, and help us live a life pleasing to the Lord. Bless us with resources, helpers, connections, and perseverance for this kingdom journey.
- Ministry: Please help us to reach people in our community to who need support with foster care and adoption and help them feel welcome and help them utilize the resources we have available.
- Community: Please continue to help us grow a community that encourages people to seek and help the fatherless, walk with those who seek justice, and help us provide refuge in hard times. Let us always be that beacon of hope and light. We ask that more families stand in the gap for those who are working through reunification or need a new permanency plan. We need more families willing to do hard stuff in HIS name.
