Praise God! We were able to purchase (with assistance from various partners and of Compassion Faith Promise Giving) and receive a shipping container of food for our Pillatre Community in June! Food has become more scarce and costly during the pandemic, and many families have lost jobs and are unable to purchase what is available. Having these meals makes a huge impact and may be the only food some families have access too.
We are praying for support for the purchase of another container. Please pray for continue provision and resources for our community. Please pray for our clinic and the families that we treat and provide food too.
Please be in prayer for the family of Francky. He recently passed away and we will miss him greatly. He was a great help to our visitors, meeting them at the airport and helping them to navigate through the chaos. He was a kind and boisterous and helpful man.

The country is still under quarantine and travel is restricted. There are plans to hopefully have the country fully open by mid-August and September.
Now we are working with the government's plan to reopen and we can allow 8-9 boys to come to the academy each day. While here, social distancing, hand washing, and face masks are in effect.
Please pray for us to trust in God and lean into him and make the best and wisest decisions as we reopen. Pray for the boys we have in the academy, for their families and the community that hearts will be softened to the gospel.

Since mid-June we have been subject to even more restrictions on movement and activities. We have prospective team members (alumni of the college) waiting to come, but restrictions on movement make it difficult to predict if they can gain entrance.
A few weeks ago we were able to celebrate with a team member and his bride in the joining of their lives in Christian marriage. Please pray for their life and witness.
Please pray for greater insights in the effective use of online tools and advertisements to discover seekers of the truth.

Ron & Doris Weeks - Democratic Republic of the Congo
It is difficult to know what is really happening in D R Congo, but the official report concerning COVID-19 cases is that there have been 863 confirmed cases and 36 deaths. Much prayer is needed for the situation not to deteriorate. It is estimated that there are only 65 ventilators in the country for over 80 million people.
Congo’s more than 100 prisons are all overcrowded making them “ticking time-bombs” for COVID-19 infection. With the newly imposed restrictions on personal contact, family members are not allowed to bring food to their inmate relatives. Dozens die of starvation every month due to a lack of government funds for food. A large percentage of those detained have not yet been convicted of any crime and are awaiting trial. Please pray that the officials will have the wisdom.
Our teams in Mbandaka are working hard to increase the production of our gardens since produce in the market place is becoming more scarce and expensive. We are feeding the team’s families and the teachers while the English center is on lockdown.
Please pray for Thomas and Jures (Team Leaders) and the others to be “light” and “salt” to their teams and families and in their communities.

We are asking prayer for a young mom who came to ThriVe Savannah in crisis and found out she was pregnant with her 3rd child. Her desperation caused her to believe abortion was her only choice. We prayed and stayed connected with her and assured her the Body of Christ would walk along side her now. She chose life for her baby who was born during the COVID crisis. She has been sleeping on the living room floor of a cousins house with her newborn, 2yo and 4yo. We are encouraging her to not lose hope as we seek answers for her. Housing, completion of her GED, employment, transportation. THANK YOU for praying with us for answers!

"Some glad mornin' when this life is over, I'll fly away
To a home on God's celestial shore, I'll fly away"
It is with great sorrow and a joyful bliss that we announce the passing of Gary Lee Valentine. Gary Lee passed peacefully on Friday, May 22nd. Lee was a gentle soul who loved the Lord and enjoyed making people laugh. He knew no stranger and loved to dance. His favorite songs were "Jesus Loves Me" and "I’ll Fly Away".
Please keep our Riverwood family and staff in your prayers as they work through losing such an important part of their world.

- May God reveal the people who will open doors within the Polish Church to develop a Simply Mobilizing National Team for Poland (equipping and sending missionaries from Poland to the Nations).
- May God grant our translator the time and ease to finish translating the Kairos Course workbook effectively for this culture so we can move forward with Polish courses.
- May I be given the gift, perseverance and patience to learn Polish more fluently in order to communicate effectively and train up a National Team.
- That God will continue to strengthen me as I recover from COVID-19 so that I can respond to others in need.
- That God would give me physical and spiritual rest and replenishment.

Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Pakistan. We just received this message from the leaders there:
I am sad to let you know that our church has been attacked today by radical Muslims. They
abused women, children and the elders, broke the walls and disgraced the Cross.
We need your prayers for protection, our people are afraid of the situation in the area.
Thank you.

Our partners shared in a recent update, "Our hearts hurt! We are not afraid. We are not in need. We are not lonely, but we are overwhelmed by the news of what is happening around us. Please thank God that we have resources available to help. What we need more than funds, is the wisdom of who and when and how to help. We do not want to create or exacerbate problems. We need you to join us in crying out for wisdom, thanking God for the promise of James 1:5."

Haitian Christian Ministries
In Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, the effects of the coronavirus are having a particularly devastating effect. It is a sad reality that those who are marginalized already are hit the hardest in the face of a challenge like a pandemic. Testing is almost non-existent and social distancing is simply not an option for many. Our friend and partner Pastor Bob, from Haitian Christian Ministries shares, "As a minister, I bear witness to the fact that people who were already living in suffering, are suffering even more. A large majority of people still need to go out every day to earn their daily bread. The government, now asking this majority to stay home to avoid spreading the virus, exposes them to another challenge, that of finding food. I am pretty sure that some people may not only die from coronavirus, but from hunger. We are trying to help feed those who have no means to feed their families." Pray with us for our brothers and sisters in Haiti! Pray that the Kingdom of God would grow as people desperately seek hope. Pray that God would extend his mercy to the suffering and use His Church show compassion and bring peace.

Carlos & Jeanette Guerrero - Ecuador
Cases of COVID-19 are vastly under-reported in Ecuador. Testing is unavailable for the majority of the population and the healthcare system was already overwhelmed before the virus. Ecuador has only reported around 400 deaths due to the virus across the whole country, but our partners are saying that there have been over 500 deaths in their small, coastal communities alone likely due to COVID-19. In addition, families who live day to day already making a meager living as laborers or selling handmade goods & food in markets are now without income completely. Our partners are working with local leaders to distribute desperately needed supplies of food to hungry families in their area. Pray with us for Ecuador. Pray also for protection for our partners, their team and community contacts as they risk their own health to help those in need.

Our partners in China are having to lead ministry from the US right now and because of restrictions are not able to return yet. They lead several kindergartens and are hoping to re-launch their ministries in May. One of their primary ministries is to their teachers, many of whom are not believers. Most of them have been confined and unable to leave their homes except for rare opportunities to get food for over 2 months. They are sharing that they are lonely and afraid. Let us pray that the Kingdom of God would grow in China as people desperately search for hope. Please also pray for our partners who are trusting God to care for their communities while they are away. Pray that they would find rest as they rely on Him.

55% of the Indonesian economy is based on activity in the informal sector. Millions of people are dealing with decreased income, if it has not evaporated totally. If we are able to identify specific people with needs, we will do what we can to help.
Many of the teachers at our school are the sole source of income for their families. Even though we are offering online service to their students, we know there may be many who cannot pay school fees which is how we pay the salaries for the teachers and staff. Please pray with us for wisdom and for the Gospel to bring hope to those that are suffering.

Things are going well in Poland, as all ministry programs are moved to an online forum… including our school, church services/studies, and Christian counseling center appointments. Specific prayer requests include:
• Tomy Church online services- for staff to have the ability and wisdom to prepare online material and devotional information for the community
• Tomy Counseling Center- many online appointments are being scheduled daily as people are struggling with depression, anxiety, and substance abuse during this difficult time. Pray for our counselors, therapists, and patients and that the patients specifically would be open to the good news of Jesus.
• Online Education Center- school is still in session—online… just like in the US. Pray for our teachers and staff to continue to pour into the youth of our schools with excitement, wisdom and knowledge. Pray that our leaders would remain strong as they point our students to Christ.

Resettled refugees are not strangers to trials but navigating the virus' impact on our community is made harder by language and cultural barriers which make it difficult to understand news reports, how to protect their family, how to homeschool or what to do when they lose their job, get sick. etc.
* Please pray for our team to have wisdom as we seek to serve the physical and spiritual needs of our neighbors in the name of Jesus.
*Pray for these families to find the help they need, grace to understand complex language (ie- medical, employment and educational situations) and to discover the hope of Christ in these hard times.
*Pray God blesses our team's use of technology to stay connected and share the freedom of the Gospel.

We evacuated a week ago from our post, for many reasons, but primarily because we could no longer do our jobs in a country on total lockdown--no church services, no small groups, no visits, no open cafés or schools. Charlotte will begin teaching online next Monday.
We would love to not have a gap between when we can return and when public places of worship re-open. We don't want to be stuck in the States if that happens.
More importantly, pray for the destruction of Islam worldwide. Mecca is closed, mosques around the globe are shuttered, and Ramadan could go from being a month-long celebration of Islam to an awful time to fast. Pray that people in our country (99.98% Islamic) and others will GIVE UP on Islam completely. Then, our harvest will truly be ripe!!

Like many of us in the US now, many of our partners around the world are enduring sustained quarantines as their host countries work to limit the spread of the virus. Some have been confined to their homes for weeks already. Many of these workers are already far away from home, loved ones, and their church family. Evacuated Global Partners
Several of our global partners have had to evacuate from their host countries and return to the US because of the coronavirus. Some are at higher risk for the virus and without access to necessary medical care. Others are in places where political and economic instability make it unsafe to remain in a crisis like this one. The decision to stay or go is a heart wrenching one. Even though most of them are in places where they’ve had to move their ministry online just like us because of quarantines and restrictions, they struggle with the guilt of leaving when they know those they love and serve don’t have that option. Pray with us for peace, wisdom as they continue to serve and encouragement in this season of uncertainty.
