God is working in so many different ways that have been revealed to us on this visit to BV. I’m so thankful that we have been able to share these moments with the staff here and the young men of BVSA.
A really fun thing that God does… is He can use anyone’s unique talents and skills to ultimately glorify Him. I had the opportunity of giving haircuts to some of the Rhino moms yesterday and some other great ladies of this area. It was a special time of them taking a break from the busyness of their days and having some time to their selves. Women here do not have the chance to feel pampered and loved. One precious lady in particular is 52 years old, and it just so happened to be her birthday. She had never gotten a haircut. Not ever! I was so excited to be able to have a part of this new experience. Thankfully, she was pleased with her trim and for a few moments she could relax and enjoy some fellowship.
A friend gave me some advice a long time ago to keep me from becoming burnt out on my trade of cosmetology. She pointed out that for every person that’s in your chair receiving a service, you have the unique opportunity of praying for them. Unfortunately, some people have never had someone pray for them. What a blessing to be able to do! Our jobs, our school, our neighborhood, all can be a ministry in itself. Wherever you are, I encourage you to pray and ask, “God, what talent did you bless me with?” and “How can I use it to glorify You?”.
