Trip Description
GO CHRISTIAN CITY
THIS TRIP HAS REACHED THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS
If this is your first time on a GO Team or if you have a heart for service, our trip to Christian City is a great way for you and your family to serve together! You will travel to Union City, just outside of Atlanta, to serve at Christian City, a residential facility for seniors and foster families. You will never view this community of people the same way after spending time with them. During the daytime the team works at the facility to do maintenance and special projects for the residents. Service opportunities include painting, landscaping, cleaning projects, organizing and more. The best part of the trip, however is connecting with the residents through special activities, games, and meals. Come experience God’s heart in a totally new way through their eyes!
For more information about this trip please email team leader, Elliott Sereff at esereff@compassionchristian.com.
All applications must be submitted no later than 120 days before departure for international trips and 90 days before domestic trips. Once your application is accepted for any team you will be asked to complete a registration for through Managed Missions which will include a deposit ($100 for international and $25 for domestic teams). Submission of your registration and deposit will confirm your spot on the team.
We will continue to monitor any restrictions to travel due to COVID protocol in the U.S. as well as the host countries for our International Teams. Because restrictions are likely to fluctuate, all locations, dates of travel and costs listed are tentative and subject to change. Please note, depending on the requirements of the destination, you may be required to have a COVID vaccine to travel. You will be notified of these requirements at your first GO Team Formation meeting. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility! You can check out current country-specific requirements on the State Department Website HERE.

About Christian City
Christian City is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that provides vibrant living, life-changing hope and a community of loving friends. Life at Christian City is all about looking forward to a better day and living life to its fullest. 1000 children, teens and senior adults reside on our 500-acre campus. Our mission is to extend Christ’s call to love your neighbor through housing, health care and crisis intervention.
In the early 1960’s, Dr. Byron and Rose Harper met with minister Jim Dyer and his wife Dura to dream about meeting needs for vulnerable people in the name of Christ. The Harpers donated land and churches raised money to construct the first children’s home. The campus now has multiple buildings and ministries serving 1000 residents.
Our campus family consists of 1000 residents:
- Kids who live in our residential program.
- Seniors who have retired and live in patio homes.
- Seniors who live in subsidized low-income housing apartments.
- Seniors and others who live in our Assisted Living facility.
- Seniors who reside in the Skilled Nursing Unit and long-term Memory Care.
