GO DEEP Palestine
GO DEEP Teams are especially designed for those looking to dig deeper into God’s heart for the Nations. We believe short term trips are a step in discipleship with Jesus, not a ‘mission box’ we check every year. We want to be a church that lives our lives on mission every day! GO DEEP Teams will spend time every day digging deeper into God’s Word and connecting with His heart for the lost, learning why we do short term trips and how they can have an eternal impact, and then putting what we’re learning into practice in the mission field where we’re serving! When you go on mission with Jesus, you never come back the same. Join us!
If you have a heart for the Muslim world or have a desire to go deeper in knowing how to pray for this extremely important part of the world, join us! College students, what better way to spend your Spring Break? This Team will have an incredible opportunity to come alongside the ministry of Seeds of Hope which cares for the people of Jericho, Palestine. The team will spend time diving into the truth of God’s word, the complexity and incredible opportunity to reach the Muslim world, and praying for the Spirit of God to move in this place.
For more information about this trip please email the Team Leader, Kelli Mahany at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Note: Applying for a GO Team does not confirm your spot on the team. Once applications have been reviewed, you will be notified of your acceptance or status on a waiting list. If accepted, you will be asked to submit a $100 deposit which will confirm your position on the team.
Seeds of Hope
About Seeds of Hope
Jericho is in the West Bank (a Muslim culture and also an economically depressed region). Our ministry partner in this Region has two organizations: Seeds of Hope and Hope for Ishmael.
Seeds of Hope is a humanitarian aid organization that serves the poor by providing access to education for poor children, creating sources of income for poor families, and bringing economic and other forms of relief to persecuted followers of Jesus. People in the West Bank come to Christ through Seeds of Hope, but Seeds of Hope cannot openly evangelize because they would be shut down because proselytizing is illegal (culturally illegal and perhaps “officially” illegal as well) in the West Bank.
The second organization, called “Hope for Ishmael” is more openly evangelistic. They “partner with churches and organizations that share a desire to reach the world for Jesus Christ and bring peace to those who feel there is not hope.”
Seeds of Hope and Hope for Ishmael are bringing the light of Jesus into a very dark place where there is very little “light” at present. We want to support this organization any way we can because they are serving in such a dark place and God has been blessing their work.
- Humanitarian Aid: In partnership with other non-profit organizations, we provide basic necessities and life-sustaining services to the poor including food distribution, primary medical care and wheel chair distribution.
- Economic Development: In alliance with local governments and existing businesses, we help facilitate secure jobs and income stability through job creating, micro loans and business start-ups.
- Educational Opportunities: By providing English education, child care and adolescent development programs within a loving and nurturing environment, the youth are prepared for successful entrance into adult maturity and success.
- Cultural Exchange: By providing hands on experiential exposure to Middle Eastern culture via short term trips, tours, volunteer opportunities and community projects participants gain grass roots understanding regarding the complexities and similarities within the Middle East cultures and histories. This initiative leads to better and clearer understanding of the Middle East environment and complexities, creating ambassadors of truth within the homeland countries.
