GO JAARS Family Weekend
This is a great family friendly trip for you and your kids! This is an exciting weekend adventure, unlike any of our other trips! Spend two nights immersed in another culture, in the beautiful woodlands of North Carolina. This trip is designed to expose you to God’s heart for the Nations without ever having to leave the country. Camp in the woods, go off-roading, hear the amazing stories of missionaries from all over the world, and expand your vision of God’s mission and the invaluable role you play in it. Every time we send a team to JAARS they come back changed by the experience – don’t miss out!
Note: This trip is a camping experience and requires good health and ability to engage in physical activity. Minimum age requirement is 8 years old.
For more information about this trip please contact the Russell Lake at email@example.com.
Please note, once applications are reviewed, students may be scheduled for an informal interview with a Student Pastor. All applications must be submitted 90 days before departure for international trips and 60 days before domestic trips. Applying for a GO Team does not confirm your spot on the team. Once applications have been reviewed, you will be notified of your acceptance or status on a waiting list. If a team is full you can still apply and be put on a waiting list should a spot become available. If a Campus is not able to fill their team, any open spots will open to applicants from other Campuses 120 days prior to departure for international teams and 90 days prior to departure for domestic teams. Once your application is accepted you will be asked to submit a deposit ($100 for international and $25 for domestic teams) as well as complete a travel profile in Managed Missions. Submission of your deposit and profile will confirm your spot on the team.
We will continue to monitor any restrictions to travel due to COVID protocol in the US as well as the host countries for our Teams. Because restrictions fluctuate, all locations, dates of travel and costs listed are tentative and subject to change. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility!
We’re a nonprofit that provides technical support services such as aviation, information technology, and media to advance Bible translation and literacy programs worldwide. Our work impacts teams with SIL International, the Wycliffe Global Alliance, and many related organizations.
When our organization began in 1948, we offered two services: aviation and radio. We were appropriately named “Jungle Aviation and Radio Service” and often went by our acronym, “J.A.A.R.S.”
However, for more than 60 years we have consistently expanded our support services to meet the changing needs of translation teams. In 1986, to reflect the diversity of our services, the acronym was dropped and we became known simply as “JAARS.”Visit Partner Website
