It’s been an amazing time here in Poland. There are a couple of things that have struck me during my time here. It has been awesome to meet other believers from different parts of the world and hear how God has been working in their lives and the cities where they come from. It was very moving to here how they came to know Christ in their own specific way. Another great thing to watch and take part in was to see how they all came together to complete the community work projects and activities during Kontakt Lodz despite cultural and language differences. Only through God could all this be accomplished!
It was also encouraging to meet several people that Proem has directly affected in this area. Tomack and Eva are a father and daughter that have been saved through the ministry of Proem. I had the privilege of working with them this week on a project painting a room in a community center. They live near Lodz and drive to the Tomy church in Tomaszow every Sunday to worship. They both were Catholics before and have taken an active part in Kontakt the past two years and Eva has also been an intern at the camp in Zakosciele. Their excitement and commitment to Christ encouraged me personally this week.
There have been some other thoughts that have stuck with me and affected my own personal growth this week:
1. God is always loving and forgiving no matter what we have done in our past. He is a God of second chances. (This word came from Jeff from European Initiative during a conversation on a bus en route to a project)
2. Spiritual disciplines are a means to an end which is growing closer to God, not just doing them to check the block. They can lead to recognizing God’s voice much more clearly, more joy, and more love from Christ that flows through you.
This whole experience has been encouraging, uplifting, and convicting for me.
