Our China team is split up into two groups and visiting with two different partners of ours in the central part of China. One group is with the Holloway family which we commissioned just this last year into the field. The other is with the Mayfields who have been in China for over 10 years. Here are some updates from the team leaders:
From Kelli Mahany:
We are gathered around The Holloway’s kitchen in China in awe that we finally made it after a night’s delay in San Francisco. Our first day of ministry begins in an hour. Everyone is well rested, and ready to get started. Stay tuned!
From Jake Zauche:
We are in China. After a 24 hour delay in San Francisco on our way, we landed here about 6pm yesterday (Wednesday). We are in a really fun city which we saw from a van with all our bags sitting on and around us! When we arrived at the Mayfields, (the partners we are visiting), we went out for some fried rice and dumplings and a chance to get to meet the interns and the Mayfields. After a much needed night’s sleep, we are packing now to spend the next three and a half days in a village in the mountains where a kindergarten will soon be started. We each get a backpack, and have been told to plan on doing some hiking. It sounds like it is going to be a blast! Kyle Kixmiller and a film crew are joining us for the mountain trip.
Because we were delayed a day, we do not get to do much with the kindergarten and preschool here this week, we will hit it hard next week when we get back.
