After a very late breakfast, we headed back to the Dove school, and broke into two groups; music and sports. Arianna and Taylor led music, playing songs and teaching the kids how to play guitar and then took requests, the most popular request being “Let It Go.” Matt led basketball, and facing against a teacher and his team, Matt was able to beat him. Josh, Grant, and I led soccer, which was intense. Josh and I were against Grant, and Grant beat our team, 4-5. I was guarded by “Laundry”, pronounced that way, and he was by my side the entire game. After an exhausting game, and Josh’s amazing header goal, the kids began asking for our “autographs” which made me feel insanely embarrassed because I’m not cool and I was terrible at soccer. But they still asked and laughed when I wrote with my left hand. After we left and had lunch, we went to the Rwandan National Stadium, and watched Rwanda and Kenya play. When we first arrived, they had a moment of silence for remembrance of the genocide, and it was emotional. Most of the people in that stadium had been there during it, and had experienced it. The game was so much fun, and even though no one won, 0-0, it was an awesome game, and such a cool experience. We left there and visited a local coffee shop, we talked and debriefed, and had delicious drinks. After a great day we headed back to the apartment.
