Hello all! I hope everything is going well in the states. Things are swell here in Ecuador. This morning we went to church, after a long bus ride we made it back to Carlos and Jeanette’s house. We had a delicious lunch, and then split up into two groups to invite people to come to the fiesta en la playa a las cinco hoy (The party on the beach at 5 today).
I was in the group that went to San Jose. We walked around asking people if they wanted to come to the party on the beach, when we ended up in front of Karen and Luis’s house. My group had the pleasure of having an enlightening conversation with Luis. Sitting in his home catching up with him made me very nostalgic. I was constantly reminded of how much my life has been changed by the people in these communities of Ecuador. Reminiscing on the little pieces of God’s ultimate puzzle made me constantly aware that God has my life in his hands. It reinforced the idea that I need to continue to trust him; which is an extremely difficult thing for me.
When we made it back to Carlos and Jeanette’s house, after a drenching walk and a sea horse discovery, we prepared for the party. When all of that was finished the kids began to arrive. I made a new friend in the translator Nicky and was thrown into the ocean (thanks Cody).
I love you mom and daddy and I’m missing all of the rest of my friends and family. <3

I was in the group that went to Curia to ask people about coming to the party. While walking in the streets of Curia looking for people, we faced mud and the misty climate of Ecuador’s coast. Although some people got their flip flops stuck, we had a lot of fun. Along the way we were asked by a man in his yard if we wanted to see his baby donkey. At first we were hesitant, but we got over it when we saw the 4 day old donkey with his mom. It was so incredibly cute. After that we all went back to the house and started setting up the soccer goals and face paint, we all had fun catching up and meeting new friends at the party.
Over all it was a perfect first day. I know we all are excited to see what the rest of the week has in store for us. After eating some delicious dinner, we had nightly devotions and are now playing games and bonding with our translators and each other. Were all ready for the next days to come.
I love you my lovely parents!!!
