We left a week ago and our time is flying by! We have had very limited access to Wi-Fi and apologize for not sending more updates. We had an amazing time in the beginning of the week with Faithway Christian Church. The pastor’s name is Richard and was an amazing host. Our team was constantly impressed with the level of hospitality that was shown to us. They continually commented on the level of care our church shows them. They just wanted to return the favor and thank us for the relationship we have between SCC and Ghana Christian Mission.
We spent the next few days traveling around to local schools, some in rural areas outside of Accra. While in one of the rural villages after lunch and a great time of worship Kevin was able to participate in a baby naming ceremony! This was unexpected and an interesting experience for the team. We then continued to visit other local schools. The schools have been expecting us and when we arrive the attention and focus we get from the schools is almost overwhelming. Each school was unique and different in their own ways but one thing was consistent. The schools and the children were determined to learn and better themselves and they were all str4iving to be faith followers of Christ. This has been powerful to see and our team is encouraged by the faith of the Ghanaian people.
A few days ago Kevin was able to pray with tribal leaders in a rural village as our team continued to travel around the country. While we didn’t understand the language our team could not miss the welcome we received again. It is amazing the beauty of the local landscape intermixed with the poverty and need of the local people. It is evident that GCM is making a difference and so thankful for their partnership.
