Today is Monday, and after breakfast we all split up around San Jose to read our devotionals. We then got to see many smiling and friendly faces at the elementary school. Afterwards, we had the opportunity to meet a beautiful elderly couple who has been married over 60 years. They have a very large family including fourteen children, thirty-five grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. The woman made us some fruit juice that was well enjoyed. God’s love really shines through these people. They are so friendly and patient with those of us who have little experience with their knowledge. I cannot wait to see what else God has in store for us this week!

Hola from Ecuador!
After a long day of traveling, we made it safely to Curia, Ecuador around three in the morning! This morning we walked the beach to San Jose and went to the church sercice there. It was a great way to spend our first morning. One of the most unforgettable moments of that service was singing and worshipping together in both Spanish and English. Throughout the service, many people got up and shared what they were thakful to God for. As they opened up, we saw how truly geuine and humble these people are. They were so appreciative for what they had and even through hardships, they expressed such a strong faith in God. Everyone on our team walked away from that service touched by the love of Christ that was so evident through these people. Through all the hugs, tears, and laughter, it truly felt like a close family. Throughout this day, we have been growing closer as a team, reconncting with old and new friends, and learning more about a love that passes all language barriers. It has been a great first day and although we don’t know what God has planned these days ahead, we know it’s going to exceed all our expectations.
We love you guys and appreciate all the prayers!
Chao!
