When 16 year old Lindsay Bowen accepted an invitation to attend Pembroke United Methodist Church with a friend, she had no idea how that decision would change the course of her life. She fell in love with Jesus, accepted him as her savior, and she found she had a desire in her heart to help others.
Less than one year later, Lindsay stood on a camp stage in Poland in front of 200 teenagers and over 50 adults and gave her testimony. Throughout the week, Lindsay has bonded with the Polish campers, so there was a lot of applause as she stepped up to the microphone. But rather than the giggly fun loving girl they had come to know, Lindsay instead grew serious as she explained her life before and after developing a relationship with Christ. She paused to let the interpreter relay her message to the audience, and they listened closely to what this American girl had to say.
Lindsay is not a public speaker, and was asked to give her testimony only a few hours before. Although she was nervous, she accepted the prayers of her team members and trusted that God would give her the words to speak.
God works in people of all ages. Our God took a young 16-year-old girl from Pembroke, Georgia, and led her to a wonderful Savannah Christian mission team. He gave her an opportunity to spread God’s love and his word to new friends in another part of the world.
What is God calling you to do? Will you be obedient?
