Our team started the day by handing out invitation cards in several different neighborhoods. We then set up and had lunch at The Verve. Following lunch we had the wonderful opportunity to go serve the homeless in two different locations. We handed out sandwiches, bananas, pizza, water, cookies, crackers, chips you name it. None of this amounted to the smiles and gratitude our team received in return.
Back home it is a natural response when someone asks how you are doing to simply say things are good. Today I personally approached two individuals who didn’t give me the more common response and it gave me an unexpected opportunity to reach out and serve! We also worked on our guerrilla lover project of making personal hygiene bags for homeless people and handing them out on the strip. It is always a blessing to see how thankful these lost and broken people are to receive our gifts. One man said “I haven’t had a Bible in so long, thank you”. We are looking forward to the remainder of the trip and will keep you all posted!
Love and light,
Dana Dudley
