Yesterday in Bolivar was fantastic and it’s easy for us to say that through everything we experienced, God was present. We started off the day by painting houses and serving in any way possible. Today, we painted a total of about 6 houses and then after lunch we began the sports camp. The camp began by the kids coloring, making crowns, and taking pictures of and with each other. After that, we started playing different sports like soccer, frisbee, volleyball, and wiffle ball. The joy that each kid expressed for the simplest things is so humbling. It’s a beautiful thing to see and be apart of. One of the ways we saw God move today was while we were painting one of our first houses of the day. Our conversations with this family began by teaching them English, talking about dancing and that eventually led to an opportunity to share the Gospel with a family who was desperately seeking Christ. One of our translators really stepped out of her comfort zone and responded to what she felt that God was putting on her heart to act on. This conversation, although almost completely in Spanish, was definitely a glimpse of how faithful and sovereign our God truly is. This man was so open to us about his testimony and struggles and God used that to show him that He does have a plan and it’s greater than he will ever know. Although we didn’t understand most of the things that were said in the conversation, the body language of the man and his family showed us that God was there and He was at work. Words can’t begin to describe how hopeful and beautiful everyone here is! We ended our day today with God-sightings and worship around a bonfire on the beach. Overall, God showed up and that was made very clear to us. We serve an amazing God.
In His Name,
