The team just returned from Chipinge, which is roughly an 8-9 hour drive from the ADMT mission house in Ruwa. It was a very scenic drive with several hours of rough roads as we got close to the village. This is the first time a CCC team has visited this area. We spent 5 days and 4 nights in the village which was nestled at the base of a mountain. The ADMT staff out did themselves with the accommodation and the view from the base camp was something that only God could create.
The host church was located at the Matezwa Primary School. The church has a core congregation of 45-50 people and the school is home to 1471 students.
The team divided up over the course of two days to teach each grade a VBS lesson and craft. For our serve project we painted two school exteriors to transform the exterior to a like new condition. Over the course of two evenings we were able to visit 19 different home where church members and neighbors gathered for a time of song, devotions and prayers.
On Saturday the team spent the day teaching different leadership skills and spending time of fellowship, praise and worship. Once the lessons were completed we were privileged to provide the first Benevolence Program to 60 homes. This was followed by team members meeting their sponsored children.
On Sunday we worshiped with the congregations in a service filed with song, praise, a great message and prayer requests that took the entire team to pray over.
Each evening we gathered around a fire and shared devotions and everyone’s highs and lows for the day.
To say the people of Chipinge were warm, loving, spiritually rich and embraced our team with open arms would be an understatement of the love that was showed to our team.
