Although it is written in the book of Acts that we are to be witnesses unto the uttermost part of the earth, never in my wildest imaginings did I think that I would be sharing the Word of God with a group of Christian Palestinian youth, in Bethlehem, Israel. But there I was, in front of a group of Arabic speaking young adults discussing “Choosing Your Friends”. With a translator, and the message in my heart and hand, I shared Luke 5:17-19. The youth helped me unpack the types of friends the man in the scripture must have had; along with the characteristics they want and need in a good friend.
I didn’t know what to expect from them, but the teens shared from their hearts. It was encouraging to see them raising their hands in eager participation.
What a great work the Lord has done in this, our first Holy Land mission trip. In the end, I told them I loved them… and they said they loved me too!
Lasting impressions were engraved on both sides.

Kathleen, thanks for your courage in a new situation. I am sure you will come home not the same as you left. You gave planted seeds that will grow for generations.
