Today was our first full day in Poland. Many of you already know this is my third year coming to Poland. The amazing part of coming to the same place for serval years is being able to see God’s hand on the growth, change, and relationships through the years. Today was extra special because we got to attend the first Sunday worship service at their new regional campus. The worship building was packed! We had so many children for Sunday school that we took them outside for the lesson. What a blessing this was because the children in the neighborhood saw us outside having fun. Many adults saw the food truck outside and walked up to find out what was going on. I know God is already planting the seed and picked the perfect location for their new regional church.
When packing for a mission trip, sometimes you pack things because you just feel a God nudge to bring them even if you have no set activity planned for them. These two beach balls and two blow up globe balls were some of those items for me this year. We used the globe balls as ice breaker game in Sunday School as we taught the kids the great commission and how to be the hands and feet of Jesus. As you can see in the pictures, the beach balls helped our youngest team member, 5 year old Izzy, break language barriers and make new friends. I love the picture of our polish friend comforting her crying little sister while hitting the ball. Soon after that picture was taken, they were both playing with the ball and laughing with Izzy.
Later we were all mingling with our polish friends and looked over to see Izzy playing hide and go seek with the other kids. Tonight we asked her how she got the kids (who only speak Polish) to play hide and go seek with her, she said, “I just covered my eyes and started counting”.
Many times we are scared to take that first step in planting the seed to share the gospel with others because we are afraid they won’t relate, have doubts if they will understand us, or well we might just feel silly doing it. Maybe we all should take a lesson from Izzy in taking the first step and just close our eyes, start counting, and have faith for God to do the rest.
Thank you all for the love, prayers, and support! YOU are making a huge impact on our team as well!
