After waking up and eating breakfast, our team took the bus to the Rwanda Genocide Memorial, a museum/memorial dedicated to learning about the genocide and its effects from when it started to today. Each of us was hit by something different, and overall the experience gave us insight into the way God has worked in the hearts of the people of Rwanda. After visiting the memorial, we came back to the apartment to eat lunch and then set off again to visit Pius’s church. At the church we heard from a youth pastor in the area tell us what kinds of high schoolers we may encounter in our upcoming youth rally this weekend. We then rehearsed some songs in both English and Kinyarwanda, as well as some fun dances. Everyone had a great time and we all had so much joy as we experienced the passion-filled worship of Rwanda. Afterwards we returned to the apartment to eat dinner and spend more time with Pius and the worship leader at his church. We are getting accustomed to life in Rwanda and are all so excited for the youth rally and all that’s to come on this trip.
What a meal that was prepared for the group, thanks for the hospitality that was shown to our group and prayers for the Rally’s. God Bless all.
