The fellow STMs feel like family….after all, they are our brothers and sisters in Christ. We’ve experienced so many connections in meeting the different people; i.e. My roommate’s fiance is from the same town I went to school back in Wisconsin and Terry’s son is one of the pastors at Live Oak church in Bluffton. I met one of the professors, Lenoid, at dinner the other night….after dinner he approached me to thank me for coming to Haus edelweiss to serve while working outside in God’s beautiful creation you truly feel uplifted….the beauty in all the detail, how one can think this happened by chance is beyond me….this is a time to reflect upon the many blessings we have in nature all the while serving at Haus Edelweiss creating a welcoming environment for the students.
Today one of the STMs, Charlie, and I went around the campus replacing light bulbs, did some drywall patching, and ended with some demo work by removing the tile from a bathroom. One of the professors Jim, made a profound statement the other night that I will always remember; we aren’t here to just make disciples, but to make disciple makers. Today’s verse in my journal fits perfectly as those of us have come from all over to work together for the greater good. “23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.” Hebrews 10:23-24
