We are here, all is well, but a little jet-lagged! This journey was a long one, over 24 hours, and it certainly felt like it too. However, I think one of the most amazing moments for me happened while I was traveling. Despite the motion sickness and being cramped into the middle seat next to a stranger on the 14 hour plane ride, I think God definitely spoke. I heard him clearly on the bus ride to the hotel. I hear him say, “I am good.” This for me was the reassurance that I needed. This past school year and season of life, I’ve found myself wondering if God really is who he says he is and if he really is good. I could hear him narrating the ride saying, “Look at this. Look at the beauty of this city. Look what they have overcome and how far they have come.” I felt him telling me to look around at the people on my team and to really take in how lucky I am and how good he has been to me. Feeling this overwhelmed me and the only think I could think to do was to pray. I thanked God for all of my blessing and I thanked him for allowing me to be a light for him in this beautiful place. As the ride continued, I could truly feel his presence and I felt this wave of joy crash over me. This is only night one here in Rwanda, but God is already doing incredible things here. I want to challenge you to remember the goodness of God and thank him for it.
