Chicago has been amazing and it’s only day three! You can clearly see the Lord moving here. We got a chance to attend the church service yesterday and help them before and after with set up and tear down. Coming from a “mega church” I had honestly forgotten how it was for everyone to pitch in. Back home everyone kind of has their own roles. Due to their lack of resources here, you saw both Rich and Dori (the Pastors of the church) setting things up and tearing them down. Their volunteers took ownership of the church. They meet in a school building every Sunday and watching everyone transform this school into a place of worship was amazing.
The church service itself was very uplifting for me. They discussed in detail the shooting in South Carolina. Their church is very diverse and it effected people in different ways. They came together and worshiped and talked about racism in such a God honoring way.
Soccer camp began today. We had 21 kids! It was awesome. The kids were so happy to come out and be a part of something.
I can’t wait to see what God will do this week!
